Help! I’m struggling! I have numerous yummy eating opportunities each day. I don’t want to miss out but I feel like I’m overdoing it way too often.
Here are a few things I’m trying to keep things more balanced:
Instead of getting a delish cappuccino each time we are out I’m getting a regular coffee with hot milk on the side. This way I control the amount of milk. Not quite as yummy, but still satisfying.
Typically I’m eating twice a day, brunch and dinner. I really really try to alternate. So if brunch is a total carb fest, dinner will be salmon and grilled veggies. if dinner will be out with friends and more decadent, I’ll try to be ‘holy’ for brunch. It doesn’t always work out but more often than not I’m able to balance this way.
And if I have a day when BOTH meals are over the top, I’ll try the next day to eat in and very sensibly.
I’m being choosy about desserts. Trying for a few spoonfuls instead of even half.
Some days are harder than others. I step on a scale every morning, in order to keep aware, even if the number isn’t pretty.
Tracking what I eat to the best of my ability is something I do every day. Additionally, I’m trying to get in as many steps as possible to keep my activity level up.
I still am struggling but I am well aware if I give up altogether I’ll be in a much worse position than if I attempt this balancing act.
So, I keep trudging along…
Mindfully yours,
Miriam
